Basics day by day
Session #1
Kite Control & Safety: On day one, you will learn how to control the kite on the beach, how to use the security systems along basic weather and safety theory. In conclusion ”You’ll then be ready for the boat session.”
Session #2
Boat/Lagoon Session: Boat sessions start with body dragging, techniques to launch the kite while in the water, followed by water starts & progressing to your first rides. The boat is following you, always at visual contact, the instructor is supervising your progression. The boat sessions allow you to progress fast & safely……
In other words “It’s great to be able to just ride straight ahead without obstacles & enjoy a maximum kiting experience”.

Session #3
Practice makes perfect: More kite launches, water-starts, and downwind rides achieving kite & board control optimization, possibly first upwind rides. “A chance to polish & improve techniques learned on previous sessions under expert supervision”
Session #4
Let’s go for our first beach start session. Day one, you have learned how to control the kite on the beach, day two & three, you have progressed to your first rides on the open water.
If conditions are appropriate we have the option to replace the boat session with a beach start session. “Now is the time to learn how to prepare organize your own beach set up correctly. Riding safely to and from the beach optimizing fast & smart progression.”
Session #5
Beyond… Together with the instructor & other students, you will decide what the session will be about. Another beach start session, a With precise, tailored objectives, “These sessions will bring you to next the next level in your kite surf journey.”

But we have to get better… That is why Charlie and me would like to practice and buy our own kite equipment.
We had a great experience with Mark at the shop. He helped us with info about the kite spots in the island and with giving us a tube for our pump. If I were to go to a kite shop it would be here. The place is fully equipped and the staff is super friendly!
I booked my kite surf lessons with LineUp and loved how they teach! The boat sessions bring you out into the ocean where you have plenty of space to practice your technique without being on the crowded beaches!
Kris and Mathilde were my main instructors and they were super helpful while also being fun!

If your priority is to learn to kite surf, then this is the place for you. The lineup accommodation is a little remote, but you have to consider that it is central to all the different kiting locations. Conditions vary day to day and by the ability of the students, so being central to all locations makes perfect sense. I am 61 years old, nobody suggested this might not be for me (which I wouldn’t have listened to anyway). The staff got me from beginner to up on a board in 3 days. Excellent tuition, communication, and friendly staff. I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn the sport.
David and Martino are passionate instructors, who have really helped me further in my skills. Going out in the ocean with an RHIB felt really safe with these guys. Great way just to focus on skills without too much focus on other kite-surfers. Good value for money !
Everything about this trip was great, the communication from Edith throughout was excellent. The accommodation was exactly as it was advertised and Petra looked after everybody that stayed. And finally my Kitesurfing instructor Kris was technically brilliant and one fo the nicest people I’ve met, I managed to achieve what I wanted to and also got a couple of days surfing in. Overall the Line Up Surf Camp and School were excellent.
